So what exactly is a Mosaic ?
A simple explanation for dummies and everyone else ...
I understand you might not know exactly what a mosaic of photos is... so here's an example of mosaic art from my latest art show. For this one I had two people contribute their photos, my art show partner Aryan Saed and professional photographer Jorge Posada.

Is it just a blurry photo?
This might look a bit like a large blurry photo, but in reality it's full of city details, composed of thousands of crisp color photos. It depicts the Vancouver skyline as seen from the North Shore, late in the evening just after sunset.

All these photos in Skyline are carefully arranged with purpose, all neat and tightly side-by-side.
Great for text too ...
One of my other pieces is of Granville Island in Vancouver. This is a beautiful place for market shopping, restaurants, coffee, theater and of course art and art schools.
The text "Granville Island" is formed by carefully placing dark and light photos to form the bowed letters.
And the photos are all taken on the island itself. In the mosaic you'll find delicious foods from the market, side-by-side with scenic views of the surrounding mountains.
Add in the shops and restaurants and the hustle and bustle just comes right to life.
